Ahead of the Edgbaston match, Ben Stokes stated, “We’re confident in our abilities to chase.”

Ben Stokes, the captain of the English red-ball team, expressed confidence in his team’s capacity to chase in test games. After defeating the Shubman Gill-led team in Headingley to earn a 1-0 lead in the five-match series, England will play the second Test at Edgbaston on July 2.

England will proceed cautiously and start over if necessary in order to pursue another large total, even if it was a superb attempt to chase down 371 in the first Test, according to Stokes.

“When we have to bat in the fourth innings, we are confident in our capacity to be able to go out and chase.” Over the past three or four years, there have been a lot of positive experiences, which is evident in that.
