Mohammed Siraj Fined for Over-the-Top Celebration Against Ben Duckett

Incident During Fourth Day of the Test at Lord’s
The incident occurred when England was six overs into the innings of their second match on Sunday. In the aforesaid over, Siraj bowled Ben Duckett and went dizzyingly close to the batsman, while he was celebrating his “wicket” — a move that the ICC viewed as over the limit and falling under Article 2.5 of the ICC Code.
This article explicitly states something that anyone who has been removed from a line-up might do that would give rise to an aggressive reaction from the person who had been sent back to the pavilion. ICC addresses that kind of behavior seriously as it could end up in unnecessary strife or lead to the minor expansion of that on-field.

Second Demerit Point Within 24 Months
Siraj is the second time within the first 28 months to be fined with a demerit point. Siraj’s charge carries on from the Adelaide Test against Australia on December 7, 2024, where he was given his first demerit point.
If a player accumulates four or more demerit points throughout a two-year period, according to ICC regulations, he may be suspended from playing in international matches.
Siraj Accepts Sanction, No Formal Hearing Required
Siraj and the penalty have been quite well set for match referee Richie Richardson. Thus, no hearing procedure was necessary, and the player did not apply for it either.
The complaint was lodged by on-field umpires Paul Reiffel and Sharfuddoula Ibne Shahid, along with third umpire Ahsan Raza, and fourth umpire Graham Lloyd.
