Australia Crushes West Indies to Win Test Series 2–0

Grenada, July 2025
Australia completed a clinical 133-run win over the West Indies on day four of the second Test at the National Stadium in Grenada, sealing a 2–0 series victory with a ruthless performance led by Mitchell Starc and Josh Hazlewood.

Resuming the day at 221/7, Australia added just 22 more runs to their overnight total, reaching 243 all out. Despite the brief innings, that modest lead proved more than enough on a deteriorating pitch as the West Indian batting order folded quickly under relentless pressure from the Australian pace attack.

Hazlewood, Starc Rip Through Top Order

Australia wasted no time after their short batting effort. Josh Hazlewood struck in just the second over, trapping John Campbell lbw with a sharp in-swinger. Moments later, Mitchell Starc joined the party, removing Keacy Carter via an outside edge taken cleanly by Alex Carey.

While Brandon King tried to counter-attack with a trio of boundaries, his resistance was short-lived. Beau Webster dismissed captain Kraigg Brathwaite, and then Pat Cummins produced a peach of a delivery to knock over King, leaving the hosts reeling at 33/4.

Collapse Continues After Lunch

Post-lunch, the West Indies showed brief signs of fight as Shai Hope and Roston Chase combined for a few boundaries. But Hazlewood’s change of ends disrupted their rhythm as he removed Hope to break the only meaningful stand of the innings.

Chase fell soon after, and with the lower order exposed, Nathan Lyon spun his way through the tail, dismissing Alzarri Joseph, Shamar Joseph, and Jayden Seales in quick succession. Despite the lower-order trio hitting six sixes between them, the West Indies were bundled out for 143 in just 35 overs.
