A five-over victory for TSK pushed them to second place in the standings.

Following a great victory over fellow contenders Washington Freedom in a rain-soaked match in Lauderhill, Texas Super Kings were able to break into the top two. The second-highest score in a five-over game, 87/2, was achieved by TSK, who subsequently had no trouble defending it to win by 43 runs. With two games remaining for each of the top three teams, they are now all tied for first place with 12 points apiece.

Marcus Stoinis opened the batting with Daryl Mitchell and captained TSK since Faf du Plessis was sidelined with a minor ailment. Stoinis barely squeezed his second delivery behind, and the men in yellow had a shaky start to the innings, only scoring five runs in the first over. Mitchell had a difficult time getting started, and at the conclusion of the third over, he was out with TSK at 34/1, but Shubham Ranjane then hit two sixes in the next over.

Donovan Ferreira and Ranjane put on a fantastic performance that allowed TSK to score 53 runs in the last 12 balls, demonstrating the brilliance of the strategy. In the penultimate over, in which Ferreira also cleared the ropes once, Ranjane struck two fours and a six. However, it was in the last over that the South African made a name for himself by hitting three sixes against Mitchell Owen to start the innings, then finishing it off with another massive six to reach 37* in just nine balls.

Despite the fact that Rachin Ravindra started the run chase with a four and a six, the challenge became very tough when Nandre Burger dismissed Glenn Maxwell and the New Zealander in quick succession. Then, Akeal Hosein delivered an outstanding over that included a wicket and five dot balls in addition to a six.
